Moscow Chamber Choir will perform the fragments of Divine Liturgy of Saint John Chrysostom by Sergei Rachmaninoff in Moscow International House of Music 23th October. Vladimir Minin will be conducting the choir.
Liturgy of Saint John Chrysostom – it’s the as aesthetic peak of vocal spirit music. Rachmaninoff created a piece in 1910 and used church canon in music’s structure. In the Soviet era this piece doesn’t perform by anti-religious motive. After the 70 years, Vladimir Minin and his choir performed Liturgy of Saint John Chrysostom (named “The seven choirs of op. 31”) in Sophia Cathedral.
