Eduard Artemyev - "Nine Steps to Transfiguration" for choir, soloists, orchestra and organ

On Tuesday 12th November Moscow state chamber choir and St.Petersburg Symphony Orchestra are perfoming in St. Petersburg the mass "Nine Steps to Transfiguration" of Edward Artemyev.

The concert will be held in the Great hall of the D. D. Shostacovich St. Petersburg state Academic Philharmonia (1st concert of the season ticket "concerts in tailcoats and jeans"). Sergei Skripka will conduct the concert. Solo parts will be performed by Olga Shurshina (soprano) and Ivan Ozhogin (tenor). In the first performance of the mass in St. Petersburg will also take part the chamber choir "Fortis" and the children's choir of the St. Petersburg Philharmonia. The organ part will be performed by Yuri Semenov. As a special guest of the concert will be the Creator of the mass the composer Eduard Artemyev.

We remind you that the premiere of the mass "Nine steps to Transformation", written by the order of the Moscow chamber choir, was held in October 2018 at the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall in Moscow. The author dedicated his work to the artistic director and chief conductor of the Moscow chamber choir — Vladimir Minin.

In August, at the festival "Transfiguration" in Yaroslavl, a mass was performed with the orchestra of the Yaroslavl Philharmonic.
