Music by I. Stravinsky & L. Bernstein in «Zaryadye»

On March 9, the Minin-Choir and the E. F. Svetlanov State Academic Symphony Orchestra of Russia will perform western sacred music and compositions of I. Stravinsky, L. Bernstein at the Zaryadye concert hall.  The conductor Wayne Marshall will perform several solo compositions on the organ.

Three organ compositions will open the program: "Marche épiscopale" by Louis Vierne, the part III (Allegro deciso) from the poem "Évocation" by Marcel Dupree and organ improvisation by the organist and conductor Wayne Marshall. Next will be "Mass for mixed choir and double brass quintet" by Igor Stravinsky, the spiritual «We Shall Arise» for choir and Psalm No. 150 for choir and brass, the last both are arranged by Wayne Marshall.

In the second part will be performed works of L. Bernstein, these are suite for choir and orchestra "Chichester Psalms», «Divertissement for orchestra» and a fragment of «West side story».

The concert will take place shortly after the opening of the new organ in Zaryadye. The inauguration Of the great concert organ of the Zaryadye hall is scheduled for February 29.
