Eugenia Sorokina (soprano)

Honorary worker of Moscow city's culture

E. Sorokina graduated from the State Musical Pedagogical Institute (L. Slepnyova and N. Yurieva classes). Now she is one of the leading singers of the Moscow State Academic Chamber Choir.

Her repertoire contains a lot of solo parts in W. A. Mozart's "Requiem" and "Excultate, Jubilate", J. Heidn's "Mass of war times", G. Verdi's "Sacred choirs", J. Brams' "Guten Abend", L. Bernstein's "West Side story" and "Chichester psalms", S. Rakhmaninov's "We are singing for you", G. Sviridov's "Strekotunia-beloboka" and "Tell me, tell me darling", G. Kancheli's "Little Imber" and "Amao Omi".

Pure timbre of E. Ilyina's voice enabling her to perform the most difficult part in the works of Russian and West European classics, which was admired in Japan, Germany, Austria, Lithuania and many other countries, where the Minin's Choir toured.

She is the winner of the Moscow International young singers of Russian romance competition. E. Ilyina participated in recording of "Russian voices" CD and D. Shostakovich's opera "A Tale of pope and his worker Balda" (Deutsche Grammophon record label).
